History of the flag

In September 2024, Komorebi organized a vote to designate the flag of Ile Saint Louis.

The inhabitants, shopkeepers and lovers of the island chose ‘Le Cœur de Paris’ as the flag, which today receives unanimous support.

What do the elements of the flag mean?

  • A symbol of Lutetia, the boat on display dates back to Gallo-Roman times.

  • The centered white square indicates the position of the Île St Louis in the heart of Paris and refers to purity.

  • The color of Sainte Geneviève, patron saint of Paris.

  • Embodies St Denis, vitality and courage.
