History of the flag
For tefilah, the Jewish prayer, we drape ourselves in the talith, a white prayer shawl with blue stripes (more or less dark).
David Wolffsohn was inspired to create the flag of the Zionist movement in 1897.
What do the elements of the flag mean?

The Magen David, ‘shield of David’ in Hebrew, adorned the shields of Jewish soldiers in ancient times.
White is the color of peace, justice and purity.
Blue symbolises the unity of the people, solidarity and equality.
