History of the flag

The flag of Kurdistan, also known as ‘Ala Rengîn’ (‘Colorful Standard’ in Kurdish).

In the center, the sun has 21 rays, in reference to the 21 of March, the day of Newroz, the Kurdish New Year, a festival of resistance and renewal.
