Creation of the flag of Île Saint-Louis
A new flag for Île Saint-Louis: an initiative by Komorebi
In the heart of Paris, the Île Saint-Louis shines with its history and unique charm. However, despite its cultural importance, this jewel of the capital did not yet have an official flag. Thanks to the brand's innovative initiative, this oversight has now been corrected.
- A participatory approach: residents and traders at the heart of the project
Between October 1 and November 28 two elections were held.
In fact, Komorebi invited residents, traders and lovers of Île Saint-Louis to vote for their favourite flag from among six carefully designed proposals.
Residents were invited to 43 Rue Saint-Louis-en-l'Île, where the Komorebi brand is located, to express their choice.
The goal? To create a flag that is not just a symbol, but a true link between tradition and modernity, reflecting the free spirit of the island.
- Inspiring designs, a tribute to Parisian history
The six flag proposals highlight emblematic elements of Île Saint-Louis and Paris:
- Le Diamant: a tribute to the unique shape of the island, anchored in the heart of the capital.
- The Heart of Paris : a nod to the initials “ISL” and Parisian identity.
- The tribute : colors evoking the Seine, limestone and blue sky.
- The star of Paris: a reminder of the six bridges that connect the island to the city.
- Seine & Ciel: an ode to the nautical flags of Lutetia, with a boat symbolizing freedom and navigation.
- The Guided Boat: a white star on a “Saint-Louis Blue” background, inspired by exotic flags.
- The Chosen One? A Symbol of Unity and Modernity
The heart of Paris is the one that won the majority in the last round. It is the majority flag out of the 1100 cumulative votes.
It will be more than just an emblem: it will become a reflection of the soul of Île Saint-Louis. For this reason, we offer this flag for purchase to merchants or individuals wishing to show the strength of the island, the strength of their chosen colors.
This flag will be proudly displayed at local events, in shops and even on Komorebi t-shirts, making the island shine well beyond the borders of Paris. It is already available in stores.
