The flag of Nepal
For this tenth episode, let's travel to the heart of Asia:
Off to Nepal!

The flag of Nepal is the only flag in the world that is not rectangular .
Its two superimposed triangles make it an iconic shape , at once traditional, spiritual and deeply rooted in the identity of this Himalayan country.

🔺🔺 Two triangles for two inheritances
📐 The flag is made up of two red triangles bordered in blue , symbolizing:
-
The Himalayas 🏔, geographical and spiritual pillars of the country
-
The two main religions of Nepal: Hinduism and Buddhism
This unusual shape gives the flag a strong visual identity and a unique cultural anchor .
🌙☀️ A moon and a sun
At the center of each triangle are two white symbols:
-
In the upper triangle : a stylized moon 🌙, representing the freshness , serenity and calm benevolence of the Nepalese people
-
In the lower triangle : a 12-rayed sun ☀️, a symbol of strength , resilience , and steadfastness
Together, they signify that Nepal will exist as long as the sun and moon shine in the sky ✨
🎨 The meaning of colors:
🔴 Red: Courage, bravery (and the national color of Nepal)
🔵 Blue: Peace, harmony
⚪️ White (sun and moon): Purity, spirituality
