The flag of Denmark

For this third episode, let's travel to the heart of Europe:

Off to Denmark!

➕ The oldest flag in the world

The Dannebrog , literally “the cloth of the Danes”, is officially recognized as the oldest national flag still in use .
Its first legendary appearance dates back to 1219 !

📜 A legend from the sky

According to legend , during the Battle of Lyndanisse , when the Danish troops were in difficulty, a white cross fell from the sky , restoring courage to the soldiers and leading to victory.

✨ The Dannebrog would therefore be a divine gift .

🎨 The meaning of colors

🔴 Red: Courage , energy, sovereignty

⚪️ White: Christian faith , peace

The design of the Dannebrog inspired the flags of Sweden 🇸🇪, Norway 🇳🇴, Finland 🇫🇮 and Iceland 🇮🇸.

🕊 A symbol of peace and unity

🎈 Today, the Dannebrog is deeply rooted in Danish culture :
We see it everywhere – at parties, birthdays, weddings and even on cakes!

More than a national flag, it is a symbol of unity, tradition and simple happiness .
