The flag of China

For this eighth episode, let's travel to the heart of Asia:

Heading to China!

The flag of the People's Republic of China, called “五星红旗” (wǔ xīng hóng qí) , literally means “the red flag with five stars” .
Adopted in 1949 , it symbolizes the new revolutionary China , founded after the civil war.

⭐️ One big star… and four little ones

📍 Against an intense red background , a large golden star is surrounded by four smaller stars , also golden, slightly curved around it.

The large star represents the Chinese Communist Party , and the four small stars represent the people united under this party .

The four stars can also be interpreted as the four revolutionary social classes :
👨🌾 peasants, 👨🏭 workers, 👨🎓 intellectuals and 👨⚖️ patriotic bourgeoisie.

🧭 A strategic composition

📐 The four small stars are oriented towards the large star , which symbolizes direction and leadership .
Everything converges towards the center of power.

It is a flag that is simultaneously geometric , political , and deeply ideological .

🎨 The meaning of colors:

🔴 Red: Revolution, national unity, happiness

⭐️ Large gold star: Communist Party

🌟 4 gold stars: Social classes united under the party
